Trezor.io/start is the official onboarding guide for your Trezor hardware wallet. Whether you have a Model One, Model T, Safe 3, or Safe 5, you’ll follow the same simple path to get started securely.
Setup takes around 10–15 minutes. Trezor Suite will guide you through initializing your device, backing up your recovery seed, and getting ready to manage your assets.

Connect your Trezor
Use the USB cable included in the box. Open Trezor Suite and connect your device when prompted.

Install firmware
New devices may arrive without firmware. Follow the prompts in Suite to install the latest authentic firmware.

Create a new wallet
Choose “Create new wallet.” Your recovery seed is generated on your Trezor device and never leaves it.

Set a strong PIN
Choose a PIN of 4–9 digits. Trezor’s secure input method helps protect it from keyloggers.

Back up your recovery seed
Write each word in order on the recovery card. Verify your backup and store it somewhere safe and offline.

You’re ready to go
Use Trezor Suite to receive, send, and manage your crypto. Your private keys stay on your Trezor.

Your recovery seed is generated on your Trezor. Never type it into a website or share it with anyone.

Yes. Trezor Suite is the companion app that guides setup, checks firmware authenticity, and helps you manage your wallet. Download it from trezor.io/trezor-suite or use suite.trezor.io.
What if my device is already initialized?
If you’re restoring your own wallet, choose “Recover wallet” and follow the official on-device instructions. Never use a device that arrived with a pre-written recovery seed.
How can I check my Trezor is genuine?
Trezor Suite verifies firmware authenticity during setup. Also check the packaging and device for signs of tampering. Contact official Trezor Support if anything seems unusual.
Can I set up Trezor on my phone?
Mobile compatibility depends on your device model and phone. Check the official Trezor support pages for current iOS and Android compatibility before connecting.
What should I do after setup?
Store your recovery seed securely offline, keep your firmware updated through Trezor Suite, and consider testing a small transaction first. Never share your recovery seed.
